It's an exciting week for those involved with Action for
Happiness, with TV coverage and event appearances taking our
message to a wider audience.
A very warm welcome to everyone who's joined us this month -
we're now over 3,000 strong and growing rapidly, with 60 countries
represented.
BBC coverage: The 'Happiness Challenge'
As many of you have hopefully seen, we've been working with the
BBC to run a series looking at happiness all this
week on BBC Breakfast.
They have been encouraging viewers to try out some simple
actions in their daily lives - including mindfulness, being
grateful and acts of kindness for others. The response has been
fantastic so far.
You can see the coverage here: The Happiness Challenge.
Exclusive tickets for Headspace event
As part of the Happiness Challenge we partnered with our friends
at Headspace who are experts in mindfulness
meditation.
In keeping with our theme of kindness they have just offered
us 25 free tickets exclusively to our members
for their event this Saturday, 29 Jan.
It's a full day in London and a great opportunity to learn
mindfulness. Tickets normally cost £125 and include refreshments
but not lunch.
You can find out more about the event here: Headspace events. If you'd like to book
your free place email [email protected] and tell them you're
an Action for Happiness member.
Our 25 tickets will be allocated on a first come first served
basis, but need to be requested individually.
Join the debate online
There's been lots of great discussion on our Facebook page and Twitter feed recently - so please join us there
if you haven't already.
Most of our news and ideas relating to happiness are being
published on Facebook and Twitter ahead of our new website being
launched.
Coming soon…
We've got lots we want to tell you all about - including our
"Ten keys for happier living" which Richard Layard
outlined in his talk at the School of Life last Sunday.
Thanks to everyone who made it along by the way!
Plus we're also firming up plans for our launch
event in April which we'd love as many of you as
possible to be involved in and attend. So watch this space...
Hope you've all had a positive start to what will hopefully be a
great year. We'd love to hear from you at [email protected]
I'll leave you with some great words from the Dalai
Lama: "Happiness is not something ready made. It comes
from your own actions".
